"Practice makes perfect" and there is no better activity to apply this saying, because it describes the main requirement to learn the piano and play it properly: practice. However, there are many piano enthusiasts that would like to play it at sight, thing that also can be achieved with a few useful tips along with more, and more practice.

Because the piano is also a passionate hobby, it is not strange that people, who find fingering difficult to learn, suddenly get involved in the practice, digiting at any hour of night or day, disregarding the place or the lack of a keyboard to play. Once you begin your piano training, you will be surprised at yourself simulating playing on your dining room table and that is the best.

The more you are involved with your instrument, the easier it will be that you will be playing accurately. Once at the piano, pay attention to the notes, ahead of your hands to go faster in your learning. When your fingers acquire its own "memory" you will only have to make sure of the correct positions of your fingers to make your hands play a melody without caring about watching the notes.

This procedure is very similar to typing and, in the same way, only practice gives you speed and fingers' memory. While practicing, don't let your hands go it alone until you acquire consciousness of where each of the keys is located. You already know that a rigid posture makes it difficult to practice, but there is a trick to cope with the tension: play standing up rather than sitting down.

Leaving aside piano formalisms makes your learning fun and while you do not become a concertist, there is no reason to avoid breaking the rules for a little bit. People who take their piano lessons too serious enjoy the experience less and take which makes them spend more time to gain practice. Do not be afraid and move yourself keeping the rhythm with your body while your fingers play harmoniously.

On a side note, keep in mind your piano's pedals, they make learning more enjoyable empowering your notes that sound different and much better every time that you try playing using pedals.
